Farmers & Merchants Savings Bank was chartered on March 1, 1916.  Farmers & Merchants Savings Bank’s name was changed in 1965 to Farmers & Merchants Bank & Trust.

To date, F&M Bank & Trust is proud to have numerous locations in Southeast Iowa which includes Burlington, West Burlington, Mt. Pleasant, and Mediapolis.  Due to the flood of 2008, F&M Bank & Trust opened a temporary branch in Mediapolis, Iowa. Permanent location status for Mediapolis was given to F&M Bank & Trust, March of 2009.  Now F&M Bank & Trust is pleased to call Mediapolis home.

To give back to its communities, F&M Bank & Trust created Project: Crayon.  This community event is held annually to gather supplies and cash for assisting elementary teachers with materials needed to educate hometown students.  100% of all items and cash collected in Mediapolis goes directly to the elementary classrooms in Mediapolis.
